A West Coast cool-hunter’s guide

Anyone who thinks that Vancouver’s fashion scene is boring probably does the majority of her shopping at Pacific Centre, Metrotown or on Robson Street. Sure, malls and stores such as H&M, Gap and Zara all have their strong points—who doesn’t like getting a super-trendy item for the cost of the New York Fries and Orange Julius drink you just slurped back?—but their fashions are surely more “inspired by” than, well, inspired.

To be really, truly, so-amazed-you-don’t-even-know-where-to-start inspired, then, you just have to know where to look. And if these pieces are too rich for your budget, at least you can steal a few ideas when you’re shopping for knock-offs.
