We’ve always liked surf culture—those cool phrases like “hang ten”, the colourful bathing suits, the wind-swept hair. Yet we never fancied ourselves as actual, well, surfers. Now that Roxy and Quiksilver have partnered with Bruhwiler Surf School for the eighth year in a row, however, we can rethink that.

Head to world-renowned Tofino, B.C., one of Canada’s only surf locales, on BC Ferries (including driving time, the entire trip takes 6.5 hours from Vancouver) or fly by Orca Airways. Surf camps run nearly every weekend in August, and the school is owned by top professional surfer siblings Raph, Joey, and Catherine Bruhwiler, who even came to pick us up in their fabulous Mercedes ‘Mog.
